Memo Reminder Component ​

1. Entry ​

Settings -> Components -> Memo Reminders

Tap the card to open reminder settings.

2. What this component does ​

The reminder component works on two levels:

  • Global reminder settings: control whether reminders are enabled and how notifications behave
  • Per-memo reminders: attach one-time or repeating reminders to a specific memo

It is useful for:

  • Task-like memos that need a follow-up reminder
  • Daily routines such as morning planning or evening review
  • Important notes you want to revisit later

3. What you can configure ​

Inside reminder settings, you can:

  • Enable or disable reminders
  • Open system notification settings, reminder channel settings, exact alarm settings, battery optimization, and app settings
  • Customize notification title and body
  • Send a test reminder to verify the pipeline
  • Set ringtone and vibration
  • Configure quiet hours with start and end time

4. How to add a reminder to a memo ​

  1. Enable Memo Reminders first.
  2. Open the reminder entry for a specific memo.
  3. Choose the mode: Single or Repeat.
  4. Pick reminder time(s) and save.
  5. In repeat mode, you can add multiple times; the current limit is 9.

If reminders are disabled, the reminder editor will prompt you to enable the component first.

5. Permissions and system settings ​

When you enable reminders, the app may request system permissions depending on Android version:

  • Android 13+: notification permission
  • Android 12+: exact alarm permission
  • On some devices, battery optimization or battery whitelist settings also affect reliability

If reminders feel unreliable, check those system entries from the reminder settings page first.

6. Practical tips ​

  • Send a test reminder first to confirm notification, sound, and permission flow.
  • Avoid quiet hours for critical reminders because reminders are silenced during that period.
  • Keep vibration on for important reminders to improve noticeability.

7. Common questions ​

Why did I set a reminder but no notification appeared? ​

Check these first:

  • Whether the component is enabled
  • Whether notification permission is granted
  • Whether exact alarms are allowed
  • Whether battery optimization is restricting reminder delivery

Why is the reminder silent? ​

Possible reasons:

  • The ringtone is silent or system default is muted
  • Quiet hours are enabled
  • The system notification channel itself is muted
